Housing. Now.
Both the unhoused and housed face significant difficulties when confronted with homelessness. Sheltered or unsheltered, no individual deserves to be forced to live on the streets or in a vehicle. Mike supports the use of existing resources and proven strategies that have been largely ignored to end homelessness. We will do this by immediately helping individuals get off the streets and by prioritizing mental health, detox, and addiction services, particularly through the CARES Courts system. However, homelessness cannot be solved without also aggressively building housing, particularly in urban infill sites and by adaptively reusing existing but under-occupied buildings.
